The Most Worshipful Rose of Sharon Grand Lodge

In the year 1950, in the state of New York, Bro. Robert March with the help of two fine deputies, Bro. Charlie Jackson and Bro. Haywood Collier set up the Rose of Sharon Grand Lodge, and at that time Bro. Collier was elected and served as the first State Grand Master. The wheels of the International F & AM Masons Rose of Sharon Grand Lodge were in full force and their early energetic labors were instrumental in producing:

• St. Joseph Lodge No.3, which was the father lodge
• Jackson Temple Lodge No. 5 located in Corning, New York
• Carver Lodge No. 10, located in Utica, New York
• King Solomon Lodge No. 11, located in Rochester, New York
• King David Lodge No. 12, located in Rome, New York
• Job Lodge No. 21, located in NYC, New York
• Ark Lodge No. 65, located in NYC, New York
• Frederick Douglass Lodge No. 23, located in Rochester, New York
• Holy Temple Lodge No. 24, located in Syracuse, New York
• Vermont Lodge No. 27, located in Syracuse, New York
• St. Luke Lodge No. 34, located in Niagara Falls, New York
• King David Lodge No. 36, located in Rochester, New York

The Leaders of these early Lodges expressed the true meaning of “Brotherhood” and four of the original Lodges still exist to date:

St. Luke’s No. 34 – Niagara Falls, NY
