History of Ezekiel

In the year 1950, after the establishment of the Rose of Sharon Grand Lodge, the wheels of International Free and Accepted Modern Masons, Incorporated and Order of the Eastern Star began to turned throughout the state of New York. The growth and expansion of the Organization began with the development of new lodges and chapters from Niagara Falls to New York City.

With the help of many of the energetic brothers within New York City area District #2, Jamaica, New York would be the second District Grand Lodge to be formed in New York State. This district Grand Lodge would later be named “Ezekiel District Grand Lodge No. 2” and continue to be a source of the formation of other District Grand Lodges throughout the eastern part of the state.

Historically, Ezekiel District Grand Lodge No. 2 has implemented various volunteer community services for the elderly, disadvantaged, homeless and disabled members of the Jamaica (Queens) community. Ezekiel District Grand Lodge has worked in conjunction with various community centers, men and women’s shelters, Thanksgiving Day fee the homeless programs to provide hot meals and turkeys for needy families during the holiday season. In addition, Ezekiel District Grand Lodge has participated in “Toy Drives” for children at Christmas and Back-To-School programs that supplied books and book bags for students in need.
